That’s alright- I learn from other artists’ tutorials too, so I’d love to share! All finished artworks that I put on tumblr are done digitally (so far at least…) in Adobe Photoshop with a tablet/wacom (wacom bamboo specifically). Brushes you can see here.

I didn’t plan to make any tutorial from this piece, so I have to screencap it backwards and somehow it looks way more simpler than when I made the actual comic from scratch. lmao.
1. Sketch. In the gif the sketch is already refined. Usually i ‘doodle’ on paper when i have an idea, then remake it in photoshop.
2. For this piece I made the panel first then put everything else (line art, base colors, shading, etc) inside it by adding layers on top of the panel layer and made it as a clipping mask. like this:
3. The first thing I do when I color is putting flat colors/base colors on main characters
4. Add in details on main characters (like shadows and blushes) and start putting down flat colors for the background.
5. More details in the background (shadows, reflections, etc). (I kept adding layers. Each panels for this piece have 15+ layers)
6. Textuuuureeeeeesss.
7. Speech balloons and text-
Ahahahahaha that’s how I do my art. This strip took me days (a couple of weeks even, I think) to finish. I’m still learning how to do this more efficiently so I bet there’s another way that is less cluttered than this ( ; ^ ; ) uhuuu
Tip: name your layers if you have lots of them hahaha. And I usually make copies of simpler psd files with some of the layers merged together so my computer could work faster.
